This exhibition marks the first trip toChina for art housed in New York’s MetropolitanMuseum of Art. Dating from the thirdmillennium B.C. to the 20th Century, the 127pieces trace the long development of Westernart. Themed on ‘nature,’ the exhibits includepaintings, sculptures, photographs and abroad range of decorative arts from immortalmasters such as Rembrandt, Monet, Renoirand Van Gogh.

UCCA launched a largeretrospective of work by WangXingwei, regarded as one ofChina’s most mature and influentialcontemporary painters. Followingthe quirky and sensitivenature of his work, the exhibitionis organized neither chronologicallynor by theme, but rather by therelationship between the contentand the canvas. So, the exhibition,featuring nearly a third of his totalwork since 1991, is categorized asfrontal, rear, lateral and profile.
